our mission

Founded by three Air Force special operators, Möte Coffee Roasters was born in Louisville, KY with one mission: serve others through coffee.
Every roast is an invitation to slow down, connect, and feel at home. We exist to warm the heart and soul, one cup at a time.

What makes Möte Different?

Veteran-Owned with Purpose: Our backgrounds in special operations taught us discipline, attention to detail, and how to serve something greater than ourselves. That mindset is embedded in everything we do; from our sourcing practices to our roast profiles.

Louisville-Roasted, Globally Sourced: We’re proud to call Louisville, Kentucky home. Our roastery is deeply rooted in this creative, hardworking city, but our beans come from farming communities around the world that we aim to honor with every roast.

Values-Driven: Mote is built on three core values:

  • Led by Purpose
  • Rooted in Community
  • Inspired by Expression

These aren’t just brand lines, they’re the filter for every decision we make.

Why Coffee?

We chose coffee because it is both simple and profound. It shows up in every culture, in every community, as a symbol of warmth and hospitality. We roast coffee because it creates space for conversation, creativity, and care.

Every bean we source, every roast we develop, and every cup you brew is our way of saying: “We’re here. Let’s connect.”

What They Say

Perfect for mornings

“I’m a pour-over nerd, and First Light won me over on the first brew. It’s bright without being sour. Think gentle citrus, a little florality, and a clean, tea-like finish. Perfect for mornings before work on Market Street. It tastes intentionally roasted, not scorched, and it lets the origin shine.”

new desk companion

Midday Pause is my new desk companion. Balanced and smooth, with caramel and milk-chocolate vibes and just enough brightness to keep it interesting. In a simple drip machine it’s fantastic — no bitterness, no harsh aftertaste. It’s the cup I reach for when I want a second (or third) without jitters.”

A cozy evening cup

“I usually lean dark, and Late Session nails it. Full-bodied and comforting with dark cocoa, a hint of toasted nut, and a silky finish. There is none of that burnt, smoky bite. In the French press it’s rich and satisfying, and it holds up beautifully with a splash of cream. A cozy evening cup after a walk in Seneca Park.”
